Amazon Introduces A New Generation of Kindles!

Amazon has upped the ante in the fierce competition for customer's e-book reader loyalty. This week
the Seattle company introduced the newest generation of Kindles - borrowing features from the Kindle DX introduced
early in July.
For those who have put-off buying a Kindle because of either the cost or they don't feel they need
the 3G broadband connection Amazon introduces the Kindle WiFi. Priced at $139 the Kindle WiFi includes the same
features as the updated 3G broadband Kindle 3.
Both the Kindle WiFi and the Kindle 3 offer a host of new features focusing on a better reading
experience -
- 50% higher contrast E-Ink screen
- Crisper, darker fonts
- 20% faster page turns
In addition, the new Kindle has a sleeker, smaller form factor that is 21% smaller and 15% lighter
while keeping the 6" screen
And last but not least the new Kindle holds more books (up-to 3,500) and offers native Adobe .pdf
document handling.
All-in-all these new Kindles are a solid offering from Amazon that continue the company's focus on
serious readers. At the same time, Amazon delivers a new price point that will increase the Kindle to a whole
new group of readers.

More about the Kindle . . .
The Amazon Kindle has taken the reading and publishing world by storm! Analysts following
Amazon estimate that over 500,000 of the first edition of the Kindle were sold. The second edition of the Kindle
seems to be proving just as popular.
If you are an avid reader, the Kindle makes your reading experience much more enjoyable. If you are
considering purchasing one of Amazon's "wireless reading devices" you can expect some pretty amazing things. First,
the quantity of books you can store on your Kindle is huge. The first edition can store about 200 text-based books
in it's on-board memory. The second edition about 5x that number.
Second, for both Kindle editions you have the ability to quickly highlight pages you're reading and
make notes using the built-in keyboard. If you have a Kindle 2 you can even hear the pages your reading read to you
in a fairly good "computer voice" (note: this feature is not enabled on all Kindle e-books).
Third, the Kindles have built-in "WhisperNet" wireless from Sprint that
lets you easily shop Amazon. This feature also lets you do some basic surfing on the Internet, read and send Gmail
plus use the mobile Twitter site to keep your friends up-to-date on what you're reading.
With all of these features it's easy to forget some things that can help you get the most from your
Kindle investment, and the most enjoyment from your reading. The purpose of this site is to help make sure you are
up-to-date on "everything Kindle" and also give you the best available tips and how-to information that help you
get the most from your Kindle.
