1. How many e-books can the Kindle hold?

Using it's internal memory the Kindle can hold about 190 e-books that are not heavily illustrated. Illustrations and pictures use more memory so the actual number you can store in the Kindle's internal storage will vary.

2. Can my e-books be stored on my computer?

They can be - however- when you buy an e-book from Kindle Amazon stores your purchase in a library of your digital file purchases. These e-book files can be downloaded to your Kindle should you accidentally delete the file. You also can store your books on a SD storage card that is inserted inside the Kindle wireless reading device.
